To the spirit of the future

To the spirit of myself living 10 years from now,

Are you living the life you dreamed of 10 years ago?

Most probably you ended up diverging from that and in a place you completely did not expect nor imagine yourself to be.

Even after 10 years, the people might have changed, the environment might have changed, and even you might have changed to someone wiser and more knowledgeable (hopefully) than before. You have no doubt undergone hardships that you thought were insurmountable but learned that they were nothing to fear in the end.

But if there is one thing that I know that would not have changed is you still trying to figure it out, even after the millions of different awkward and cringe-worthy positions you found yourself in.

No matter how much time flows, you’ll feel just as lost and confused as ever, not knowing how to handle some things. Life throws you new problems and situations that become obstacles and failures.

So let me remind you to let go of yourself once in a while before getting too caught up with the reality that you have limited yourself to.

As absurd it may look, run in the rain sometimes and shout at the sky to your heart’s content.

Dance to the music of nature and let the wind take the waltz, disregarding the stares that tell you to do otherwise.

Sing as you always had and let nothing hinder you from being you.

At this point, you will have made plenty of mistakes. Whenever you do, dont forget to go back to the basic.

If you did wrong, make sure you apologize. If there is something that is bothering your conscience, dont do it, even if that may cost you. if you need to thank someone, then show your gratitude.

Oftentimes, we think we know too much, and forget these little fundamentals that help us discover ourselves. The more lost you are, the more you can turn to your roots, and figure out what it is that you need to do.

Wishing you the best,

you from 10 years ago
