The Unromantic Math in Crossroads

I see you and you see me,
but we never once intersect,
because in parallel reality,
each other, we dont affect.

Then we meet once when I head straight,
but we go on never meant to be,
at perpendicular ways decided fate,
allowing you only one moment of me.

Then you head straight while I turn right,
on the same lane just getting close to each other
but even though we try to meet with all our might
like an asymptote only just in sight forever

So at crossroads occur the most tragic stories
of intersecting fates of potential possibilities.
And I am here unable to pick
the saddest kind of crossroad that isnt so romantic.

In response to Crossroads.
